The Molecular Communication and Information Theory Laboratory (MCIT) at York University, Toronto, Canada invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in the area of information theory, molecular communication, and biological information processing.

As the successful fellow, you will join a dynamic team, helping to build the MCIT’s world-leading strength at the cutting edge of biological communication and signal processing. You would live in the city of Toronto, named as one of the world’s top 20 cities by The Economist’s Global Liveability Index.

Applicants must have received a Ph.D. (or have successfully completed their Ph.D. defence) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields. Applicants should have excellent analytical and mathematical skills, and a strong record of publication in the engineering, mathematical, or scientific literature. Previous work in mathematical modelling and/or rate-distortion theory would be an asset. Background knowledge of biology is an asset but not a requirement.

The start date of the fellowship is flexible, with a target of January 1, 2026. The initial term of the fellowship is one year, with the possibility of extension.
