Biography

Xiangxiang Xu received the B.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2014 and 2020, respectively. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Rochester. Before joining the University of Rochester, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT. His research interests lie at the intersection of information theory and statistical learning, with a focus on developing principled methods for data analysis and representation.
