Aria Nosratinia is Eric Jonsson Distinguished Professor and associate head of the electrical and computer engineering department at the University of Texas at Dallas. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1996. He has held visiting appointments at Princeton University, Rice University, and UCLA. His interests lie in the broad area of information theory and signal processing, with applications in communication theory and wireless communications.
Dr. Nosratinia is a fellow of 91³Ô¹ÏÍø for contributions to multimedia and wireless communications. He has served as editor and area editor for theÌý 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Transactions on Wireless Communications, Ìýand editor for theÌý 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Transactions on Information Theory ,Ìý 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Transactions on Image Processing, ,Ìý 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Signal Processing Letters, Ìý 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Wireless Communications (Magazine) , andÌý Journal of Circuits, Systems, and Computers . He has received the National Science Foundation career award, and the outstanding service award from the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Signal Processing Society, Dallas Chapter. He has served as the secretary of the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø information theory society, treasurer for ISIT, publications chair for the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Signal Processing Workshop, as well as member of the technical committee for a number of conferences. In 2016 he was named a highly cited researcher by Clarivate Analytics (formerly Thomson Reuters).
